What is this website?

Put simply, I want to know how important marketing is in the video game industry, and what kind of marketing works best? What are the pitfalls? And what kind of ‘marketing games’ do developers and publishers play in order to come out on top?

I want to know if there is such a thing as a hidden gem in the gaming world anymore – or will a diamond in the rough always be found?

At the other end of the spectrum, can a mediocre game make it big with the right premise and message, regardless of the end quality? Or will a turd always be a turd, no matter the HD polish?

I’m asking these question because I haven’t made up my mind myself. In these case studies, I want to take a deep dive and find out.
